Zone lag, slow performance and long pause

I am experiencing lag, slow performance and long pauses
whenever I am in Zone (Age of Empires II: The
Conquerors).

From observation, lag only occures when a Game Window is
open. Than it lags terrible.

But its worse when I come back from AoE game to Zone. It
freezes for 2 to 4 minute.

This problem is of recent, before 1-2 months I didnt
have this problem with Zone.

On Zone.com Frequent Asked Question I found a question
which would explain and solve the problem, but it looks
like it was removed.

If anyone could give a tip or help with this problem,
would be thankful.

PS: My RAM is 768MB. And problem is of recent so i dont
think its RAMs problem.
