I'm a nut cake researcher who always checks out stuff before I buy. You all have been a real big help. THANKS!
I had intentions of building my own rig after spending hours perusing this forum. I'm into Home Theater and also much video editing using Pinnacle Studio 9 and others but I like games and its always been my contention to buy a gaming rig and it could do the work of my video editing.
Anyway, my oldest is headed off to college and I'm giving him my Dell 2.8 P4 to take with him. I really really wanted a 939 socket AMD 64 3500+ rig but my wife wouldn't let me build one since we were so close to him leaving for school and I had to get one soon. I really wanted to try IBUYPOWER or Cyberpower Inc. but I heard so many negatives I felt I couldn't risk the chance.
So, I ended up with another Dell P4 3.0 Prescott with the new 533 Mhz memory. Anyway, Dell's had a lot of negative's too lately so I hope I'm not screwing up here. They've already misshiped my packages to somewhere in Louisiana.
However, I promise you all that I'm building my ultimate gaming rig for my youngest son this fall and I have the confidence to do it because of this forum. I've always been fixing computers but I've never built one from the ground up.
I'll be reading more as time goes on and I truly am looking forward to this project.
