I have a fast, free, high speed cable internet connection. I would like it if win98 NEVER touched the hard drive while surfing except for cookies. I have a small (2gb, 500mhz, 256mb) system that I am happy with. The fact that ie stores everything it touches on the net is nuts. Okay its good if you have dial-up and want to revisit pages or browse offline, but not for me. So yesterday I put in a ramdrive and set it as the temporary internet files location which has speeded things up due to lower disk access but now my cookies are lost with every shutdown. Does anyone have any advice as to how to use one location for temporary files (the ramdrive), and yet have the cookies stored somehwere else (the hard drive), short of writing a batch file to transfer them from hard drive to ramdrive at start up and from ramdrive to hard drive on shutdown. Thx.

Just decrease the amount of space the temp files are allowed to take up... that would probably be the simplest solution.
