okay.. to add up on the subject:

what I heard (or think i heard at 8am after a night of gothclubbing and lots of vodka ;)

The Paladin systems should consist of a circuitset with cpu and mem hardwired to the board, the case is not open-able (extreme powertools would then have to be essential for any casemodder and enthusiast) and the idea of the system is that it is: hacking- and virusfree (it simply can't get affected) it can only communicate with other paladin systems and is only able to function on a dsl/cable connection, it is not possible to run pirated software or perform other illegal activity as it is constantly surveillanced by remote mainframes. The internet would then have to be devided into 'the www' and 'Paladin-net'. Those are the few facts I can rememeber, the ethic discussion that followed I will leave out.
Every home-father and corporations dream and truly a nightmare for the rest of us.

I will try to find some 'legitimate' articles to prove these theories

till then

Sounds like some censor-freaks dream. "Now we have the paladin-net, so we can see every dirty little thing you do on the internet." Parents can further prepare their children for the real world by completely secluding them from anything that remotely resembles reality. And corporations, they can at last combat that great enemy of productivity, fun. How soon until you can hook up the paladin-net to a mobile security camera array in your home, then you can watch 24-7.

Oh [-peep-]. That's the scariest thing i've ever thought of. Next to the NWO being true.. when that happens i'm going suicide route.

Bastards! Take my smut away from me!!! GRR.
Although i'd want to be the first to do evil on the system :D.

The day that happens is the day Windows leaves my hard drive forever. I agree with the second review, "Microsoft" and "Trust" shouldn't appear together unless the word "anti" is in there somewhere.

Oh man. Microsoft is at it again. Maybe we never really had to worry about that chip in our hand.. it will be microsoft's doing in the end.
