What do you mean it runs like a pig?
What do you want to use this for....gaming i assume because of the 6800, but anything other then gaming?

Thats kind of a crazy switch to make, but i guess you dont mind spending a lot of money for a space heater, slower games, and all that at a high cost.

Try to soft mod your 9800 se.... screw that, sell it and buy a 6800. Your a64 will be faster in games than the 3.0 ghz p4.

get rid of you vid card and change out your value ram with ozc, cruical, or corsair but like they said the vid card is your biggest problem.

Life is like a bolt of lighting...unless you make and impact you won't be noticed. And believe me if you kick that tiger in the a.s.s you better have a plan for its teeth.

Is the ram pc3200? If it is, it's not the problem, it's the graphics card. The SE is a small step down from the 9600pro. Get a 6800GT and be happy.
You may need a larger psu with the GT card (400watt namebrand). If you get Intel, get the P4c. It wont work as fast in games as the AMD, but it will still be fast.

i was told the 9800se was better than the 9600xt !!!
:(

so in fact my graphics card is poor
and the ram is 400mhz speed but as ive said its value ram and generic at that.

would new ram and a 6800 give my pc a good kick?
