I have a Toshiba equium U400 laptop. I can't get sound from either the internal speakers or any speakers plugged into the headphone jack, however audio plays fine through the hdmi audio connection. The volume control shows the green levels bar moving up and down when playing something but no sound comes out. The speakers attached to the audio jack are brand new and work with other devices. Problem appeared after setting hdmi connection to default for audio after I had trouble getting audio to play on second monitor through hdmi. Even though I've switched the default player back to various audio devices it now only plays on hdmi through the other monitor. All drivers have already been updated. Any ideas or advice gratefully received!
