Computer cpu sockets repair

Hello,
I have a compaq presario desktop
and the cpu socket were the strap
holds the heatsink, one of the clips broke and it won't hold
the heatsink now. Is there some
thing that can be used to hold the
heatsink without replacing the
socket completly

What socket/CPU is that computer? Some motherboards have four holes spaced around the CPU to hold over-sized heat sinks. If your has that you might be able to get a new heat sink that can attach through those holes.
