How do I turn the Color off of my HP 310 Printer

I just want to print in Black. How do I turn off the Color.

You must choose that in the printer settings each time you print.

Also be aware that most color laser printers will consume some color toner whether you print in color or not. I didn't know this when I first got my color laser and eventually it was cheaper for me to pick up a B&W (got a multifunction too!) to do the bulk of my printing to and use the color laser for only when I really want to print color.

HP printers usually have a setting to use black only, but it is hard to get it to 'stick', so you end up setting it for each print. I do agree, however, it is better in the long run to get a B&W printer if you do a lot of that.

if this is an inkjet you cant! all colours come into play, the black adds the extra bit to make it DARK.

Really?!? I have had the option to use ONLY black ink with the last three HP inkjet printers I have owned. . .
