Accidently converted all files to pdf and can t open them

hello ,
could you please help me ? I accidently coverted all my desk top icons to adobe reader
and now I cannot open them because it tells me there is a problem with opening them ,how do I put them back to what they were ,

If you've done a backup recently or a system image, right click on the shortcuts on your desktop and select properties, then the tab 'previous versions'. The backups will be located here and you can revert it back to the way it was when you did the backup.

tried that but there is nothing in the previous versions. any other ideas?

Do a system restore.
