Hey Jeff,

Never bought this mod. That said I have put 12V car lights on a few of
my pins. Borrowed 12V from the back box and mounted them to the back of
the game (with zipe ties, so quiet down with all the gasps and snickers
out there...)

I picked blue myself...

It did look cool, and looked like some nifty blue light on the back of
every other game.

That said, I move games, sell games and so on far to much to warrant
having them up at this point. I will hold off until I know what I want
to keep. :)

Got the lights from Best Buy... most car places have them...

Andrew

I used a similar thing on my Indy topper, but I used the one that is sound
activated so it pulses with the music. I first bought it for atmosphere like
he's suggesting but thought it was too much like "pimp my ride" but it
worked great with the topper. Check the Topper Lit pic @
http://members6.clubphoto.com/tim531160/2384827/guest.p... They can
also be adjusted to be always full on, ie: no sound activation. Plug right
in to a 12V source. Try this link or google for more, save you some $$$

I think it looks neat, but I'm one of those people that loves to play
pins in complete room darkness. But this isn't really a 'pin mod',
it's just a generic electical lighting thing, big deal, some red or
blue lights, can probably buy at an auto parts store.

Yeah, that so called "MOD" is a complete rip off. You can buy dual
cold-cathode lights in any color from most pc suppliers for about $4.

On the backbox with the game up near the wall wouldn't be too bad. But
underneath the cabinet, if you have _any_ room ambient light, forget it.

Tried it; the pin is just too high off the floor and the light is
dissipated too much to really get a good effect out of it. You sort of
wind up tinting the floor, and that's about it.

This is similar to the guy who claims to have been the first to offer
remote battery holders. We were doing those 20 years ago.

Just a little lighting behind the pinball machine and now, "I envented
something!". Get a life! I'm sorry, I am being a little harsh. Just
seems childish.

Hey, if I mount a fan on top of my LOTR can I say I envented the
"breaking winds of Frodo"?

Geesh.

Well, after reading the last couple of posts; Im a little embarrased to
say that I bought one for the back of my Judge Dredd.

Its nice, it actually helps show off the eagle topper. I have them
taped to the back of the backbox and its against a corner wall.

I am actually going to purchase another one for my Sttng and it too
will go on the back of the back box and against a wall.

It gives the appeal of a neon light glow and its not overbearing at
all; actually it could use a little be more power or another light
with the kit, but you can put tin foil or anything mirrored back their
to enhance the glow. I havent tried that yet.

To each his own; if you like to play in the dark I would say this would
actually be a nice touch it ads a little bit but not enought to
distract from the playfield.

Sure!

And FWIW, AFAIK I was the first to have _game_ _controlled_ floor
lighting on my STTNG. (Shown at Expo '03!)
