Ok i need help on clearing this up

FX-53= 2.4 GHZ = 1MB L2 CHACHE
FX-55= 2.6 GHZ = 1MB L2 CHACHE
3800+= 2.4 GHZ = 512 L2 CHACHE
4000+= 2.4 GHZ = 1MB L2 CHACHE

OK I AM CONFUSED. THE FX 53 WILL HAVE SAME SPECS AS 4000+. DIDNT AMD DO THIS TO THE FX-51 AND ANOTHER CHIP. WHICH ONE OF THESE CHIPS IS THE EBST BUY. I DONT KNOW WHICH ONE TO GET AND THEY ARE ALL ALMOST IDENTICAL. ALSO ANY WORK ON 90NM HIGH END CHIPS COMING OUT. PLEASE CLEAR OUT WHY THE CHIPS HAVE SAME STATS AND WHICH IS WORTH GETTING.

ASUS 440BX P3B-F, Intel P3 @ 553Mhz, 128Mb Pc133 Ram, nVidia Gefore 256, IBM 20gig HD, Creative Sound Blaster Live,Lg Cd-Burner, Creative 52x Cd Drive, Microsoft Windows XP Pro/2000 Pro Duel Boot

First off, only one FX chip is available at a time. They have the advantage to OCers, in that the multipliers are unlocked.
The FX55 will come available about the same time as the A64 4000, so there is no FX chip available that runs a stock speed, the same time that a regular A64 is available. (in theory) The FX chips are only for extreme enthusiasts. I would love to have one, but they just are not worth the money.

I can't believe a high end Opteron is cheaper than an FX. That's marketing for you.

well its different now that fx chips are s939 only, and youd be hard pressed to find a s940 board capable of any overclocking. so while it is an enthusiast part, it does retain selling points for overclockers anyway.
