Battery not charging up on Acer G72

I just received my http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220733 laptop and put in the battery. The computer turned on fine and everything was functional. When the battery life was getting low i plugged in the charger to the computer but the computer did not recognise the charger at all. The battery has now run to 0 and i cant charge the battery. The charger itself lights up green indicating its functional but the laptop is not recognising it at all.

What should i do?

It sounds like you have a bad battery that didn't exactly pass quality control. Your best bet is to give the manufacturer a call and they'll probably send you a new one for free under the guise of the factory warranty.

Does the charger have a removable cord between the poser brick and the computer. Make certain the code is securely connected on both ends.
