why do you need to pirate sp1 it is a free download .. what am I missing here ? there was a thread already on how to get around the death of corporate edition if you used one of the common cd-keys that were out there but other than that I haven't heard that sp1 was hard to deal with

if you dont have a valid cd key then it will not install, so if your copy of xp is pirated then you can not upgrade. you have to get one of the new-style cd keys

Yeah, that's OLD news man... I've known how to run SP1 on XP Corp for months now (actually, since before SP1 was officially released even... got a leaked final copy).

Some day I'll be rich and famous for inventing a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.

Did you guys experience any problems trying to install language packs from XP after the SP1 update? Cuz it turned out that I can't install East Asian Language on my comp anymore after dling the update. =[ When I click on the box and hit apply it just unclicks it. Just wondering if anyone is having a same problem or maybe it's just me?

Just because you can DL doesn't mean you can install. You don't even need windows to DL it. You do need a valid key to install it though and the old ones don't work.

I just installed Russian, and although it works, I have to admit that the "on screen keyboard" is a peice of crap. It crashes constantly. Not sure if it's related to XP1 though since I never used it with the original.

Anyways....worthless info, but my experience nonetheless....

I'm pretty sure the European languages will install fine since they are on there to begin with, but if you want japanese or korean or chinese u'll need to install additional files and usually by checking the box for east asian languages it will install, it used to work for me before SP1, but I hope it isnt SP1 related either. =\
