Help needed with Shure SM7B

Hey everyone, so I have a Shure SM7b and I have done a little bit of recording with it but it is very very quiet. I do things on youtube so it's just my voice that is being recorded. I have a pre amp and my gain is all the way up and I have it up all the way in audacity which is my recording software. Has anyone had any problems with this? Any help would be much appreciated

You need the correct adapter, pin 1 and 3 on the cable are tied, pin 2 is + to the preamp.
If it's wired correct, should have no problem. Tie 1 and 3 together on the cable.

OR could just be a defective mic.
