Brother printer paper jam

I have a Brother 2040 laser printer. It constantly jams and I can remove the jammed paper. It appears something is either broken or the cover behind the rear chute cover is not closing properly.
Can this be fixed? Thanks

the output rollers are worn. yes, it can be fixed
