I'm not sure if this is the right section to ask, but I've been getting a hum/buzz that may be a ground loop. It comes from my amp after its been plugged into my multi-effects processor that is connected to my guitar. The hum is not there when the guitar is plugged straight into my amp, only when it passes through the effect. The whole set is near my computer so I don't know if it has a major impact, even though the hum was still there after I turned off my computer.
What can I do to get rid of the hum/buzzing noise?
If the processor has a 3 plug AC cord then you can try lifting the ground with a 3 to 2 adapter. This is not strictly the right way to do it but it is usually OK. You can also use a ground loop isolator between the processor and amp.
