Please help me decide which computer is better for games and video editing:

First one:

Intel ROCKLAKE D865PERL
Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz 1MB 800MHz
AData DDR 256Mb 400MHz * 2
GAINWARD nVidia Geforce4 FX 5200 128mb DDR

second:

îòáãé þAMDþ Price Units Total
Athlon™ 64 3000+ (S-754) 1020 1 1020
ìåçåú àí ìîòáãé þAMDþ EPOX Price Units Total
8KDA3J S-754 sata, gbl 570 1 570
æëøåðåúþ DDR 400 Price Units Total
512MB A-DATA 470 1 470
ëøèéñé îñêþ ATI Price Units Total
RADEON 9600Pro TV,DVI 128MB 820 1 820

My dilema is between the Pentium 4 3GHZ and the ATHLON 63 3000+...
Also, please give me your opinion of the video card, which one is better, the ATI RADEON 9600Pro or nVidia Geforce4 FX 5200.

what's happened to the text on the second option, it's all CRAZY!

I'd go with the AMD chip (it's faster at games, a little slower at the video editing) and the 9600 as the 5200 is not worth the PBC it is attatched to (FACT)

That first option sucks. The 5200 ruins it completely.

it does for games, judging buy your choise for a nice and stable intel board your probably not a arcore gamer. So in stead take a 6600, ATI 9600, X600 this type of stuff

ASUS P4P800S-X
P IV 2,4 @ nothing caus this board doesn't OC for [-peep-]
2x512MB Corsair pc4000
120 maxtor SATA
Sapphire Radeon 9800pro 128mb
Watercooled

Uh, d00d, there are GeForce3 cards better than the FX5200. There are a couple versions of the 9600 pro, and the crappy version is still around twice as good as the 5200.

AMD 3000+ definatly no question toward gaming.
Video Card the 9600 pro is good but if u could afford the nVidia 6600 / x700 that would also be nice but yeah, a nice setup indeed

ASUS 440BX P3B-F, Intel P3 @ 553Mhz, 128Mb Pc133 Ram, nVidia Gefore 256, IBM 20gig HD, Creative Sound Blaster Live,Lg Cd-Burner, Creative 52x Cd Drive, Microsoft Windows XP Pro/2000 Pro Duel Boot

The 6600GT looks good, if you can find one. I wouldn't get the regular 6600 though. Same thing with X700, make sure it's the X700XT. I don't think you can beat the price/performance on the GT. It's not that much more than crappy old cards, might as well spend the few dollars on something you'll use a lot.

heya asi;

Either brand CPU is fine, the question you should really asking is what brand name and model hardware should i be buying if i go with either intel or pentium, the answers will vary but a genral consensus will emerge and you will be able to purchase with confidence, and know you will be happy with your purchase.
By the way, i have a R9800 Pro for sale for cheap, send me a private msg here on toms.

Go for the second option and make sure that you're getting a nForce3 250 chipset based mobo
