I have one in mind, but the Contrast ratio isn't as high as some others,.

Here's my review of the Asus VK246H. It is the same as the VW246H, but includes an integrated webcam.

I've been looking around myself but can't really decide if I want something at 120hz for gaming.

I'm really not sure if it makes a big difference. I've been looking for one that might have everything I'd ever want in a monitor but it's a tad too pricey.

I would settle for something like this without 3D and HDTV functionality if they could knock off some $$$ from it.

Yeah but most monitors that are 120hz have it so I can't really get rid of it for a better price.

If I didn't want 120hz I would be down for either a samsung PX2370 or LG E2370V-BF.

? why is there such a hype on 120hz gaming? Unless you have eagle eyes that can see a rat 5 miles away, you'll most likely have payed 200-300$ more for a 3D feature you won't use and a smoothness you will NOT perceive. 60 hz is fine, spend the 200-300$ on picture quality and get an IPS such as the ZR24W or dell U2410.

Now on subject, it's pretty clear to me that you're probably on a strict budget so i'll give you my best choice... ASUS VE248H. I've heard only good things from this one and if I remember correctly 2 years of coverage with fast RMA. Great image, good consomption and the response times are blazing fast. 200$ for this quality of a LED monitor is practically a steal.

Not really buying for 3D at all but you really can't buy anything on the market for a monitor that is just 120hz and NOT support 3D.

I mean if it costs me less then sure remove it. But I just want 120hz because of the smoothness and less judder.

So if 120hz was not an issue, do you think the Samsung PX2370 is good?

I just want it for gaming, movies, viewing great photos and something easy on the eyes (eg. Not make them so tired).

Hi Everyone,

I was looking for a new gaming monitor and came across this thread. I've pretty much decided on Asus bases on the cost to quality ratio. Problem is I cant tell difference between the different series of monitors. I was looking at the Vh238h which is apparently the LED version of the of the VH236h or the VS238h. I also saw that someone reccomended the VE248h and asus also has other 24" monitors in the same price range. So my questions are what are the differences between the VH, VS, and VE series and are any of them superior for gaming?

im no expert, but why would you get the 248, instead of the 238?

just out of curiosity, they look exactly the same?

It all depends on the size of the screen here. the 248 is 24" and the 238 is 23". I think it's the only difference... as fas as I can tell.

I've been wondering the same thing, I've been looking at the VS247H-P but I don't really know the differences in the product lines either.
