Where can you get the critical updates and other downloads for XP, so you can burn to cd, and only have to download once? I just did another XP install, and now have to redownload all the updates. Takes some time on my dial up connection. :frown:

I'm not really stupid...... I just play one on TV.

Thanks guys. SP1 is HUGE, though. Hmm, maybe I'll just get it on CD. I can't really download THAT much. Just take too long. :frown: Time for a high speed connection I guess. If it didn't cost so much here, about $500, to get it going. :frown:
Anyways, THANKS.

FYI: The site link I furnished allows you to download the pre-SP1 critical and recommended updates individually, instead of just Service Pack 1, which is indeed fairly massive. Ignore the posted dates of October 23, 2002, and instead, look at the original dates of release. Download and install the updates that are relevant for your particular system, and ignore the Service Pack, unless you wish to purchase a copy from Microsoft.

I assumed that these updates are what you intended to burn to CD. Take a moment and look again, davep. According to your post, this is exactly what you were hoping to locate.
