Easy question: What brand SD card is it?

I have had a similar problem with a cheap 512 MB card and VOICE MEMOs. It's
'write speed' was far too slow. It would record, but ever 2 or 3 seconds it
would "skip" -- just drop a second or two. This card was useless for voice
memos. I dont really use the video function that much, but I expect it
would write too slow for that, too.

By the way... you're not HOLDING the record button down when recording
video, are you? You just tap it and it starts recording... tap it again
when you want to stop recording.

It seems that it is a problem with your SD card speed. Try a faster one.
