Hope this forum helps me in fixing my issue,
Recently i have changed the permissions of a folder (not to make it used by the users of the system),due to some problem with OS i reinstalled the OS,then recognised that i have changed the permissions to the folder and with the admin rights of the new OS i am unable to read the files in the folder.
Can someone please help me in fixing this access issue.
In Windows 7, you can take ownership of a local directory and all of its contents by right-clicking the problem directory (in an administrator's account or from a File Explorer window launched as administrator), going into Properties > Security > Advanced > Owner > Edit and selecting your current administrator account. Make sure the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects." box is checked and press Okay. It may take several minutes for large directories. You should then be able to change the permissions to any values.
