RGP'ers,
The following is an update to questions about the pinball transistor
seminar on October 1st.
Where?
SS Billiards in Hopkins, Minnesota at 732 11th Avenue South.

When?
October 1st. The seminar will start at 1:00 sharp and is scheduled to
run for 20 or 30 - minutes. Time after the seminar is scheduled for
those who wish to replace a transistor in his own pinball board.
How much?
$10.00 pre-registration is mandatory.
What do I get?
The following are given out before the seminar: pen, classroom hand
out, and an ESD bag with miscellaneous electronic components.
The following are given upon completion of the seminar: a copy of the
test and a certificate of participation.
What kind of a seminar is this?
This is a basic seminar, an introduction to pinball transistors. These
will be classroom and hands-on learning. Prizes will be awarded during
the seminar. And, supervised board repairs may be made after the
seminar.
What do I need to know to qualify for the seminar?
Nothing, this is a basic introductory class. There are no prerequisites
for attending this seminar. The seminar was designed to teach basic
transistor: identification, substitution, troubleshooting, and
replacement.
How can I prepare?
First, the $10.00 pre-registration is mandatory by no later than
Saturday, September 17th.
Second bring, yourself (on time) and the following: a magnifying glass
(or loupe) and digital multi meter (DMM) with diode and / or transistor
checker capabilities.

Will this class certify me as a pinball technician?
Though the ETA does validate CETs in both Consumer and Industrial
Electronics, no, there is no such thing as a "certification for a
pinball technician". At this beginner's seminar you will learn:
electro static discharge protection basics, an introduction to basic
electronics, DMM instructional basics, transistor identification,
transistor testing, and transistor troubleshooting.
