Hi everyone, my desktop is starting to be quite really old and after much considerations, I have decided to buy a laptop for my gaming needs. I have heard great things about the Radeon HD Mobility line and so I'm trying to find a good laptop that has one. I'm pretty sure something like the Gateway NV5909h is just what I'm looking for. http://notebookcritic.com/2010/02/06/review-gateway-nv5909h/

However, I have had no luck finding one and it seems it is non longer being made. I would like to hear about good alternatives that are at the same performance/price range or higher. I am willing to buy something more powerfull. I could pretty much fill the following charts with the NV5909h specs.

1_What is your budget?
$1200

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15''-17''

3_What screen resolution do you want?
The higher the better?

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
This laptop will be my desktop.

5_How much battery life do you need?
It will be connected most of the time so any will do.

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Yes, High. Games just released and on their way to being released. Everything. Although I won't pay $2000, I want the highest possible for my price range.

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, watching movies, Etc.)
Movies and some 3D, but my main focus are Games.

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
320gb would be enough, but I think most laptops have more.

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
I live in Canada, being able to go get it would be perfect. If I have no choice I'll order online.

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?
As long as I can. Until it break :( or it is unable to run any current games.

11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Bluray ideally but I would be willing to completly sacrifice a drive if I found a great laptop without one. (Online distribution via Steam-Blizzard and I already have a bluray player)

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I tend to like Asus-Acer but I have no reasons to justify it so disregard this and tell me about what you think is the best laptop and why.

13_What country do you live in?
Canada.

14_Please tell us any additional information if needed.
See at the top of my post

Thanks a lot for your time.

Thanks! .... that's perfect.

I see there's a 17.3'' version. But it's $300 more... is it worth it?

Also taking a look at ASUS G Series G51JX-A1 NoteBook Intel Core i7 720QM(1.60GHz) 15.6" 6GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M for $1300.

I kinda like the second one with the 6GB of RAM and the complimentary backpack.
