Yep....... Many avid pinball collectors here. Valuable resources to tap
into
and critics as well. How about Stern offering an RGP promotional
contest for a FREE pin. You make the rules, raffle or whatever you
will. How about a raffle for an RGP member to test the next pin and
provide advice on how to make this pin more energetic and appealing,
maybe even come down to the factory to give opinions on what would make
the pin more appealing to today's market. Just a suggestion, but given
the volume of avid pinball collectors in here and owners of pins, it
only seems logical to give a little back to the community and the
community to give back to you.

This pretty much already exists. Just make a functional whitewood that
will plug into a current Stern boardset and fit a Stern cabinet. Bring
it to Chicago and show it to Stern. If there's any interest, they will
probably drop it in a cabinet and see what she does. If it goes to
production you'll probably get a game, or maybe enough cash to buy one
If not, you go home and make another one and try again.
Eventually you might come up with something you build and take to a
show (having been turned down by Stern so many times you can't afford
to make personal calls anymore) and finally you have something people
have fun playing. Word spreads and people are asking about the game,
"Bring it to our show." they say. So you take it to Expo and then Stern
can't help but see it, and see the fun people having with it. They make
you an offer you can't refuse: a free machine for the design rights!

Well, technology and all is nice. However, games with 1/2 the techno
are more fun that some of the titles they release today. Honestly, the
pinheads are where the heart of pins lies. Tap into the right vein and
more people will call em classic.

Howzabout an RGP pin! Now that would be something. We need to drag out
this old thread again I'll go- lets see. How about a bonus for hitting the RGP targets in
consecutive order and going into tilt if you hit RPG instead! HA! Nah,
never mind

And how big do you think the volume here is ? 200, maybe three hundred
readers and posters ? And that is what, maybe one or two percent of pinball
? And a lot of the hobbyists here don't play on location, which is where the
bulk of Stern's sales are, so Stern isn't going to be coming here for ideas
to improve sales on the street. LTG

I purchased 4 lbs. of plastic light lense inserts from Steve Young, for
my Gottlieb Prototypes. Look under Specials, all are nice except for
purple ones, still trying to figure out a use for those. 1/4 lb. for
$10 US seems good to me, more people need to jump aboard whitewood or
coloured prototypes, I will say what i am doing, it may help someone,
anything can be done!

Let's see, features for a new rgp game could be:
Mirrored Ball Bonus Round
OT Side Ramps (that go on forever)
AC Convert Lane Change
Copyright Infringement Outlanes
Bally/Williams Lemming Holes
Stern Slam Tilt
Endless Critic Corner Lamp Chasers
Bally/Williams Orgasm Bonus
Think it is a great idea.
