Stern is selling them for cost, about $300, I doubt you'll find a used one
cheaper. LTG :)

Do they give a reason? Are they just closing out the last of their
inventory and this will be the end of ToPS? Or are they trying to
really push it on people to get widespread use?

Could someone explain what this toppoer actually does?

I'm a noobie to tournament pinball, as is evident by my question.

Ive seen these toppers on location pins and didnt really understand
them.

Thanks...

I don't believe they are closing them out, just trying to do their part to
get more milage out of pins on location. Since the hole on the lock down bar
is smaller on Nascar, I don't think they'd be making modifications on
something they were going to end. LTG :)

It's part of a tournament system Stern developed. The topper scrolls
messages about past and current tournaments ( this appears on the DMD too ).
You can read up on it on stern's website. The tournament is limited to the
game it is on, the TOPS kit comes with the message board, another board to
insatll in the head, power supply and cables and some hardware and
instructions. the tournaments have some variety in styles and number of
prizes, etc. LTG :)

Hi Lloyd,

Thanks for the response. I do not think Stern will sell to a consumer
will they? I tried a local distributor and they wanted like $600.

Try other distributors, maybe even the parts vendors could get one. LTG :)
