Aparently the new overclocking record now is 6.3ghz (~1.8ghz FSB) done with a DFI motherboard and a P4 3.6ghz, will THG atempt to beat this record? Im sure THG can do better. The overclock was done with a i875PE motherboard so no locks on anything were in place.

3.6-3.7 ghz athlon fx 55 lol, cant wait to see these two behemoths compare performance wise, either could claim world records

Socket 775!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DFI mb are one of the best in the business and look decent in your case, very good overclockers with good support.

These behemoths can barely boot...stability is nowhere near the ability to run a set of benchmarks

What makes you think so? I REALLY doubt THG's ability to break even 5.5GHz... The guys that break 6GHz are ones that devote tons of time to this every day, THG just OCs something to the max once a year when it gets 'chilly.'

Maxtor disgraces the six letters that make Matrox.

actaully both are able to get stable enough to run benches, now the ahtlon fx one is sitll being tuned though, i think he only got stable at 3.5ghz right now, and i know fugger had his stable.

I could get there if I had nothing better to do too... LN2, Liquid helium... maybe supercooled mineral oil.

You could probably get there on air, but living in Antarctica is too expensive.

Just build it in space, make sure it's always in shadow and passive cooling should work fine. That way you also don't get snow clogging your fans.

That is me, I took the world record from the Japanese and they are trying to get it back. I am using phase change cooling, not LN2 or Helium...

My system can run 24/7 if needed @ 6Ghz. the 6.3 was max oc for screen shot.

My record will be hard to beat until the 3.8Ghz P4 is released. The FSB im running at is very hard to match =)
