I have a printer which works on 240V and can I buy a fuser unit that is used in US and put on my printer and it will not give me any problem. I know in US they use 110V mains.

Please advise. Also can I modify their fuser to suit my printer which is used on 240V mains.

Regards

William

My printer is HP laserjet 5 Si Nx working on 240V mains and I want to know if I put a 110V fuser unit C3971A into my printer , will it blow up? I could not get hold of a fuser unit in Australia and in US there are so many 110V fuser unit thats fit my printer and so what sort of conversion I have to do to change this 110V to 240V working before I can put it into my printer to work.

Please advise

William

@William
Did you ever try using a 110v fuser in your 240v printer?
I'm in the same situation with a different model and am looking at a 110v fuser for use on a 240v printer (Brother MFC9840CDW).

any fuser unit using 110V or 240V are the same in parts but the heater element is different. So if you want to convert the 110V fuser which you can buy it cheap in US and are much easily available in US, then before you put it into your 240V printer, change the heater element to 240V one. Other parts are all the same.
