New CPU

I've just got a AMD XP2000 to replace an ageing 1.2 thunderbird but my madonion 2001 score is a disapointing 4850. What is going wrong?

System is a XP2000 on a ECS K7AMA 1.0 with the bios flashed to the latest version. 512mb of 2100 memory, ancient 40gb5,200 hard disk and a 64mb Nvidia FX5200 card.

Help me people!
