My dell inspiron 530s to hdtv

Hello,
I connected my dell inspiron 530s to my sanyo tv via monitor cable it initially shows as its loading but the goes blank it shows fine in safe mode. i connected the cable to my monitor without restarting the pc and it shows up fine. do i need to adjust the pc settings or is the problem at the tv side?
