Help plz...Which one would you buy? Dell Vostro 3700 or Sony Vaio EB190

Torn between which one to get...the Dell does have better specs but I love the look of the Sony compared to the Dell(lol) and yes that makes a difference to me. the Sony also has a 15.6 instead of a 17 and id rather go for the 15.6 for mobility

Which one would you guys choose? Also if you could comment on which Video Card is better and which brand is more reliable id very much appreciate it. Both are at a sale price so I would like to decide asap

* DVD +/- R DL / DVD +/- RW / DVD-RAM Drive
* Microsoft Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
* 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3-SDRAM-1066

Total Cost: 800 CAD

Dell Vostro:
- Intel® CoreTM i5-450M Processor (2.4GHz, Turbo Boost up to 2.66GHz, Dual Core/4T, 3MB/L3)
- 17.3 inch High Definition LED Display (1600 x 900) with Anti-Glare

Note: I already have a copy of Windows 7 64 bit so the 32 bit Dell isnt a problem.

thanks for the help in advance

More about help which dell vostro 3700 sony vaio eb190
  1. The main difference is the VGA,in games gt 330M performs much better than HD 5470M.
    If you aren't going to game,then go with the Vaio one(since you need portability too)
  2. I'm going to game a little bit - mainly SC2 which i'm sure the 330M makes a noticeable difference.

    Any opinion on which is a more reliable brand/laptop? And also is a 7200RPM drive a lot faster than a 5400RPM one?

    I assume the processors are a wash as the 450/430 are very similar.
  3. Both are good brands.
    I t the CPU and HDD
    As for 7200 vs 5400,well you'll get less boot/load times with 7200
    And for CPUs,the difference isn't noticeable in almost all games/apps
