p4 1.6@2.1 p4s533mb oc or upgrade cpu?

i currently own a p4 1.6 oc to 2.1 on a p4s533 mb with 1gb of pc2700 samsung ram.
i would like to upgrade my cpu to maybe a 2.4 and oc it or keep my 1.6cpu and oc again to maybe 2.4 or so.What would be the best option if i keep my ram.Buy another cpu or oc the one i have?

The 2.4 should get you to 3.0 Unless you want to buy new mobo and new CPU. Like 2.4C 800FSB.

Go get yourself a descnet northwood chip. Those 2.4 and 2.6 can easily do 3.2-3.6ghz.

Your CPU should easily do 2.4GHz at a mere 150MHz bus. Since the RAM is rated at 166MHz (DDR333), you'll want to UNDERCLOCK it to the CPU bus speed (1:1 ratio). I'd use 1.65v core voltage. There's your free upgrade.

He HAS a decent 2.4GHz northwood chip. And the rest of your advice is far off: The 2.4B usually quits between 2.7 and 3GHz. The 2.4C won't even do 2.4 on his board.
