Grainy TV to PC connection?

So, I've connected my HDTV to my desktop using an HDMI cable. The source (under input select) is set to HDMI1. Whenever I play games the graphics are great, but at my desktop and when browsing the web, it appears grainy. There IS a PC source on my TV, but I can only use it with a VGA cable (which I don't have). I've tried turning the sharpness down on my TV, but it just doesn't effectively solve the problem.

Is there anyway I could set my TV to recognize the HDMI source as PC?
Is there anyway I could possibly make it more clear?

I'm using an AMD Radeon 6670 graphics card. My TV is a 22" HDTV.

PC
--And you cannot rename/add new sources/ect.
