Windows resume

Hello,
i have an acer laptop which has a very broken keyboard i'm having to use the onscreen keyboard. BUT NOW, i am faced with a 'resume windows' screen with no way to continue. is there any way around this i don't want to pay for any repair at this time. i'd like to add that my knowledge of hardware, operating systems and all things computing is quite basic. can anyone help please!!

Plug an external keyboard into the USB 2.0 port on the side of the laptop and reboot if you need to.

You don't sound like the type that wants to open it and reconnect things, it's not always easy and sometimes needs a surgeons hands.
