How do i configure a printer to use the black ink cartridge instead of the 3 col

I have a customer that has a HP inkjet printer that cost them a ton of money for colored ink because it uses 3 colored cartridges to make Black ink instead of using the black ink cartridge that is in the printer. does anybody know how i can configure their printer to use the proper cartridges at the proper time??

If you want to print out using only black you can choose that option in the advanced printer settings. Otherwise it uses black and the colors to produce smoother grays.

even if you do select to use black only, it will still use some colour during head cleans which it does as part of its maintenance cycle. Inkjets are not as efficient as their specs claim. Lasre printers are wha tyou want for efficiency.
