I'm after a HP 4600 scanjet see thru scanner for playfields and backglasses.

Tried a few places in the USA but they want at least $65US for postage to
Australia!!

Anyone on RGP used one of these scanners or has one in working condition
they would like to sell me (I'd pay with PayPal).

Cheers

Brad

They are all over ebay..... cheap.

Amazon has them, too.

Paid $8 + shipping for mine, and that was high.

I think many were returned as defects, and these
are mostly refurbs. The software has problems
for some I've heard, too.

It's also a matter of me finding one in the USA that they are willing to
ship to Australia. I refuse to pay $65US for shipping.

Just be sure you stay the hell away from bargaindepot, surpluzdeals,
techgraveyard etc. All of these guys are from Nashville, TN and they
are the same guy. They sell junk stuff, trust me, I bought a 17 in LCD
monitor from them, with a 7 day return. They wouldnt return it. Dragged
there feet until the 7 days was up and then they said it was outside of
the return period. These guys are CROOKS, so be careful.

Maybe, but I think it's more of a "no hassle" deal.
If it doesn't work for whatever reason, you won't
bother to try and return it. I see many eBay sellers
do things like this.
