I'd recommend the 3000+, 3200+ wont differ much in performance and will be some waste of dollars.
K8N Neo2 Platinum is awesome and no I don't think you'll need bios upgrade, but it's good to keep your stuff up-to-date ;)
I'd recommend the 6800GT no the 6600, not the 6800 ultra too
and the 76GB raptor will ONLY give you more space
yeah and for the ram, its perfect, good luck with the new pc

Might wanna consider those new maxtor 10 series drives with 16MB cache. They are faster than the raptors and u'd get a lot more storage for your money.

If those are the DiamondMax 10 drives, those are 7200rpm, and 10,000rpm really helps with any sort of random read/write performance. They can read more small chunks of data per seond, because those chunks spin around and pass under the read head more frequently. (that would speed up tasks involving lots of small files or multiple simultaneous large files - maybe not games, games seem to just take however long they want to load levels regardless of hard drive speed.)

I've also had people tell me they are quieter than the 36GB models. I got four of the 36GB models in my computer in Raid0, and it's pretty loud. Got that signature Western Digital Whine going on.

yeesh, I hate loud fans more than anything. I drilled three 120mm holes in my workstation case to avoid using the crappy built-in high-output 60mm's it came with.

You know, fan holes need mufflers you can tack onto the outside.

Brand name whores are stupid!

Me too, but that extra 200Mhz or another 25db fan - i know which I'd choose!

Water cooling really helps, but I still think my Panaflow(?) 120mm fan running on 7V is too loud. :frown:
