I'm hoping someone can help. I was all set to purchase

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115795&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-RSSDailyDeals-_-na-_-na&AID=10521304&PID=3463938&SID=

And then they were sold out. I've contacted Newegg and of course they have no record of when it may be back in stock. My son leaves for College in 3 weeks and I need to find a new laptop but I'm ignorant on the GPU's of Laptops.

Is there a comparable laptop to this one for $800 or less? If it can play League of Legends at high quality and WoW at medium or better he is happy.

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!

Will he carry it around, or will it be just left in his dorm room as a desktop replacement?

If he needs mobility, this:
http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-TimelineX-AS4820TG-5637-14-Inch/dp/B003VTZPQ6

If he's using it as a desktop replacement, this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834101230

Both are more than suitable replacements for what you posted.

I'm British therefore i don't have a great insight into the US market for Laptops, but a laptop with an i3 or an i5 CPU with an ATI Mobility 5650 GPU will be sufficient enough to run WoW and League of Legends as asked.

It would definitely need mobility.

Which is the better of these 2? I'm assuming the Gateway due to the i5?

Over the years, and only talking Desktops, I've not been a big fan of Gateway but maybe laptops are different?

If you need mobility, definitely don't go with a 17" laptop. Those things are insanely heavy, and have absolute crap battery life. I know the newegg page says 3 hours battery life, but don't believe it.

Go with the AS4820TG if you want the mobility.

Also, Gateway and Acer are pretty much the same: Acer makes Gateway's laptops, IIRC.

The Radeon 5650 HD should perform better than the Nvidia 330M in most situations. If mobility was not a concern, you should go with the first link.
