I just got a new system and I'm currently running a single 580 on an older Samsung 22 inch@1680x1050. I'm seriously considering moving up to either a 24 or 27 inch@1920x1080. Depending on what FPS hit I get in games running at 1920x1080, I may have to go dual SLI, but that remains to be seen at this moment. I will buy the monitor first and then see if I need to add another 580. My question is: for 1920x1080 resolution, and considering I game about 17 inches away from the 22" monitor I have right now, is a possible 27" going to be too big and how much worse will it look over a 24" running at the same resolution. I mean, my PS3 is hooked up to my 50 inch Panasonic plasma and games on that look great, but again, I'm sitting around 7 feet away. Any thoughts?

At 1.5 ft away your monitor will look big, REALLY big. You will have to move your head to see the entire screen, imagine if you plug the 2nd one in. I'd stick with a 24" one.
