That's funny. I've heard some great things about wiz8. Like it's supposed to have an excellent story for one thing.

How about that realtime battle thing?
Is it possible to fight in realtime?, I only managed to walk around in realtime, then when a battle event occured everything switched to turn based mode...me don´t like.

no... its kinda fixed with turn based.

it has round based and continuous, but things are still done turn for turn like.

way the games designed... more strategy

ooo. i just killed a diamond golem... exp cash cow!

I´m not totally against turned based games, it´s just that Wizardry seems so damn big, it will take forever (times 2) to finish it...if it were realtime battles I could slash my way thru in just a couple of seconds (Well, almost)...

Guess I´m the impatient type of guy.

nods... wizardry 8 is the last link to the early turn based adventure games...

and apparently it gets easier later on in the game. still meet craploads of enemys that take yonks to move... but apparently one well placed 7th level nuclear blast takes care of em before they even get close LOL

Man, I played the older Wizardry games when all you did was go down a dungeon and every level was almost exactly the same.

Need to try out Wizardry 8, but haven't gotten around to buying it.

yaaa. the surrounds are decently done, specially the dungeons and foresty areas.
monsters are ok, could possibly be a bit more scarey though... but they explode in a VERY satisfactory manner when they die.

combat is a bit strange though for the uninitiated, turn based isnt fore everyone.

oh, and if u DO get it, practice casting your party protection spells!!! cant empasize that enough. turns a mediocre party beefy!
(missile shield, bless, magic screen, armourplate, elemental shield, haste etc)

Today on Toms: Trisexual hamsters, anal applications of peanut butter and Marrige councilling!
