i just recently purchased a compaq x1010 CA canadaian model
with a 32 mb radeon 9200
1.4 PM
60 gb
15.4 " WXGA

and was just wondering whether or not i should keep this lappy or upgrade to a toshiba m10
which has a 32mb geforce 4 420
1.5 PM
60gb
15" UXGA SUPERFINE SCREEN

i primarily want to play games for now
so, should i keep the compaq or go for the toshiba
so far, the compaq has run well in games like counterstrike ut2k3 etc
but the only prob i have is that while playing games like CS, the ctrl button doesnt function quickly
Thx

oh btw, i heard that the compaq x1000 lappy's have upgradable graphics, is this true???
oh and one more thing, here in canada, there arent any lappys that ive seen that are centrino's with 64mb vid cards
only 32 mb and i only want centrino (Dell has it but i dont have the time to wait for the lappy)

so which one should i go with?????

If you want games, stay with the Compaq. The Mobility Radeon 9200 is 50 - 60% better in games than the GeForce 4 Go 420. I believe Compaq has(/is) addressed(/ing) the keyboard issue, and I'm quite sure that they are using a separate PCB Graphics Card, but that doesn't mean it will be upgradeable (but there is certainly more chance than the Tosh).

3DMark2003 scores aren't to be taken too seriously, but for reference, the GF4Go420 wouldn't get more than 300 or 400 points, whereas the M9 (Mobility Radeon 9000/(9200)) can get 1000 on a faster Processor.

I know someone with the X1010, who I helped him chose it, we were debating between that and the Toshiba I think M10, the centrino one with dual pointers. Anyways, the compaq had a widescreen, was better built, also had a bigger harddrive. The only advantage of toshiba was it has dual pointers. Its LCD was sort of flimsy and easily bendable.
