I have Win7RC 7229 on two computers. On the Thinkpad, its running very good, no problems.

On the 3+ year old desktop, its a bit of a different matter. Its not an ideal system but Win7 ran fine (mostly) to begin with:

Stats: AMD64 3800+ / 2GB / 250GB HD / ECS KN1 motherboard (socket 939)

Upon installing OS, the sound driver was an issue (ECS has no Vista drivers for this board) - has to get a generic driver from the audio-chip company which does state its Win7 compatible.

Problem: UT2004, it plays fine - but the audio speech is SUPER fast / sounds like chipmunks. Music sounds fine. Whats the deal? I did try XP compatibility mode.

Problem: Win7 takes forever to shut down... like minutes. But boot up is fine in about 30 seconds. But the big problem with shut-down is that the computer doesn't shut-down, it reboots.

Maybe started after I installed the sound driver (I'm not sure - going to to uninstall anyways for testing) - so it could be a driver issue.

Problem:
Networking
This is an nForce4 board with onboard NIC - it used to work. But now it doesn't. It knows theres a network, but won't connect. No changes in drivers and such.

Other problems: Some games don't work - they are on the old side: Far Cry, Crimson Skies, Doom. But a new game SpongeBob Odyssey 2 locks up on start. Doom(original) won't start.

Halo does work fine :) Audio & video

I've removed the audio driver - Win7 still hangs for about 5 minutes before shutdown/restart. :(

Oddly enough, it appears that installing the latest nvidia Video driver with this hardware caused some of the problems (networking) but leaving a CD-ROM disc in the drive caused the shut down issues.

I am using the Win7 included drivers for now.

Also removed the audio drivers and let Win7 find them for me... still the same chipmunks.
