Antec case with 6 tornado fans
480 watt psu
Duron 1.6->2.0
2x256mb kingston pc2700->pc3200 (2ns 2-3-2)
Radeon 9800pro -> xt
2x 80gb WD harddrives w/8mb cache

NSFU -> always 22fps no mattter what resolution
Doom3 -> 25fsb or lower on 800x600 high or meduim
HL2 -> 40fsp or less. Massive slowdowns when enemies.
WH 40k -> runs great in 1v1 but runs 5fps on bigger maps

Trying to figure out if its my cpu or the ram. My guess is cpu and i was about to walk out and get a mobile 2500+ or semperon 2800+ but i missed my bus... just wondering. is 800mb of ram better than a mobile at 2500+

What a conundrum! The slowest CPU you should run is 2.0ghz. The least amount of ram is 512mb. DooM3 likes both faster CPU's and more memory. In your case, upgrade CPU first. A Duron will not keep up with a 9800XT.

but I run NFSU with a GF2MX and a Duron1GHz, a pretty good frame rate with medium mixed some low details

I'm with wusy, get this <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-401&depa=0" target="_new">http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-401&depa=0</A> and run it from 1833 up to 1.4 to 2.6. Now that would be doing it right. Even if you cant push your ram any hire, you can still make it with the unlocked multiplier.
