Best HS/Fan replacement

I read all these posts about ABIT boards running too hot and I've gotten some suggestions for cooling things on my Antec Sonata Quiet case... but I think I'm gonna need a new heatsink. I have temp monitoring software and many times I idle at 40 but under load things quickly get to 65 and many times the comp just stops, turns black and everything locks up... I need lower temps.

So I am going to put a new fan in the case, but also I wanted to know what is the best $40-ish heatsink/fan that I can get to make my processor cool?

I have a P4c Northwood 3.2 and ABIT AI7 mobo. Thanks and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

it is a tad mor expensive but then the quietness is there too then you got two in one

great thanks for those suggestions! I've read up on both of those and I was a bit confused. One of the reviews I read (http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-253-3.htm) showed that the Zalman runs HOTTER than a stock heatsink... but quieter? Am I reading this wrong or is that the case? I can live with a little noise I just want to get the processor as cool as possible, do you think the Gigabyte Rocket cooler would be best for that? I am also looking at getting some Artic Silver 5 thermal compound... do you guys recommend that?

The new zalman comes with fan control. It is only hotter than the stock fan, at slowest speed setting. Even at fastest speed, it is quieter than the stock fan, and ofcourse, it keeps the chip cooler. You could do almost as well with a straight 7000 al-cu unit.

You might need some extra fan power in that case. That seems too hot for a stock 3.2C under load. The stock copper-plate cooler is not that bad.

Alright, I am going to go ahead and pick up an Antec 120mm SmartCool fan unit... unless anyone recommends something different instead?

I think I am going to go with the Gigabyte 3D Rocket Pro GH-PCU22-VG

And also - should I pick up some Artic Silver 5 thermal compound? Anything I should know about applying this since I originally applied the stock intel thermal compound?
