Folding@Home is a LARGE GRID COMPUTING effort. Presently over 100,000 computers and over 400,000 people have contributed. Present speed is approximately 173Teraflops.
Completely nonprofit and totally for humanities benefit. Join the team, it's kind of fun. :-D

Seems other people/sites can claim they have great community spirit.

"priyajeet" started a team to do protein folding for humanities benefit and to have this community recognized. We're team 40051 at http://folding.stanford.edu and we could use a little of your help.

Log:
"Team Photon" got left behind faster then a beam of light. "Valhall" and "Team Sweden" can't keep up with us. Loose Association, (wonder if there are any women there to tempt me to switch).

Up ahead, not far actually, is (in)famous team Intel. Come kick butt if you want to :).

Come on guys, we need more support. Even though we have 38 members there are a few people who havent been folding for almost the past week. If we can get some people folding i know we can make it to possibly the top 100s.

Also is there any way to make this go faster? It's using 51% of the cpu, there's still about 49% not being used when i'm not around. I looked under the configure options but the slider bar is all the way to the right.

Well im not folding, but its not because I dont want to. After my last WU uploaded something weirded out my comp or the program. It just says: Attempting to download WU. Any thoughts? Some other things have been slowly but surely going wrong with my system. Maybe A virus.

I don't know about you guys but it looks to me like there are a bunch of big folds in my in queue. Some around 30hrs and others around 40hrs to process. Not like the general 15 hour ones (and that's full throttle). Anyway, we are still reporting respectable numbers and our team rank is 623.

"Cyberwolves" and "Isolation" have been left out in the cold. "Goblin Market" needs to talk to "BrainTalk" maybe then they could make enough adjustments to keep up with us. "Starmen" might be shooting for the stars but the stars but they can't hold a light to us.

Yeah Team !!!

Hi Mozzatusm,

How about uninstalling the application and reinstalling it?
Maybe cleaning out and removing the folder in between?
There's a forum at http://forum.folding-community.org where we might find something if that won't do it.

Darn we had a power outage in my district. I shut everything off just in case they'd drop and reconnect all night so I'm off about 16hrs of computation time this week.
Oh well, my average will just have to suffer.

We continue to do amazingly well. We are way ahead of schedule. I don't know where all the extra work is comming from but some people seem to have ratched things up a notch.
At this pace we will be under 500 ranks before XMas. My Christmas wish will come true early.

We have just left "Slinger High" behind. Even a high school is given adults a run for their money!!! We could use a few more adult members on the team. When I joined we were about 20. Now we're around 40. Lots of those who joined have become major contributors. Things are good but we could add members. I think the team is starting to feel like a winner.

The "Intel" team is going down tonite. They seem to have tried to rally but they just don't have the momentum. Wonder if that's going to happen with their CPU's???

Up ahead we see "Ripley Enterprises", believe it or not; hehe! The "NullSet" is going be left feeling rather empty soon too.

Yeah Team !!!!!

P.S. Thanks for the POLL priyajeet! POLL

How does this work on computers that have multiple users on it? I want to trick my parents into using this because it turns on when the computer comes on. Any ideas?

I have no idea what the problem is... I have the thermaltake silent boost in the Temjin Windtunnel. Every time I increase the voltage AT ALL windows won't load. I've talked to scotchen about it and he can't figure it out either. I have a REALLY good PSU too, the OCZ PureStream or whatever it's called. I think it might be the motherboard, I'm not as happy with the 939 MSI as I was with the 754. My processor runs at like 32 idle and 45 full load... I don't get it.

Well MSI uses this bizaar percentage system. Honestly if I change the voltages AT ALL then Windows struggles... I don't get it. After the holidays I will probably get the EPOX board because I hear it is a good overclocker.

Yeah well, Scotchen recommended them to me just the other day, told me that they have good stable voltages and really high voltage potential. Then I just read that you recommended them in one of these threads here. Another problem with this MSI board is the voltage isn't very stable; and I'm not the only person with this problem. It fluxuates quite a bit.
