Help and Support- web only?

Hi,

I recently bought a Dell and so far it's run ok.

Has anyone else got this problem though.

I went to use the help and support
from the start menu and found that the button was dead, my cursor flickered
a bit then nothing. However if I click on the Dell Solution Centre
button, bingo I get to use Dells help and support web site.

I thought since I paid for the operating system I should be able to use the
help files installed on my own PC but it seems Dell wants me tied to their
web site for some reason, great if they can guarantee me permanent web
connectivity, even if my PC goes wobbly and I need the help files.

I got in touch with their customer support by Email and tragically their
support technicians are not trained to fix these problems, shame that,
neither am I.

They gave me a phone number to another bunch of technicians which isn't
free, and I'm supposed to go on some goose chase in order to be able to use
my own help files now.

So it's taken me a couple of months to find out Dell are tricky bastards.
