Have anybody spotted that both times Intel platform failed AMD fan slowed down over 1000 RPMs. How about moving those computers a little far awey from each other?? That would give us some real info about fan speed.

What is the distance of the 2 systems have to do with fan speed?

Most systems can adjust rotate speed of fan so that thay slow down if CPU temp. alows for that. And since both fans may by using air used by other fan (therfore warmer) have to rotate faster to keep the same temperature.
I hope you see what i have on my mind.

Well you have a point but since it's open and not in a case, the warm air doesn't stay compressed near the coolers as it happens in a case.

I see what your saying, and I would be interested to see the same thing. And I am still unsure how much the ambient temp in the air surrounding the AMD would decrease with the crash of the intel. It may be significant, even 1 or 2 degrees might have a considerable effect, the truth is that none of us really know. It would be interesting to see a test done with a constant system and just ramp up the ambient room temp and see how the system responds/copes (AMD and intel).

Well.. I see what you mean. But I think, that air may not be able to escape, since it is beeing blown in direction of other fan (at least part of it). It may be, that considerable amount of air that is used to cool procesor in fact just came out from the other fan and is quite hot (you know - those fans are quite powerfull and are not all that far from each other). Anyway - how to explain that difference in fan speed??
By the way - after reboot Intel's fan is rotating much slower (and so does AMD's). But Intel's temperature is 10* higher, while AMD's is no different than it was.
