Hi, I live in Canada and would like to buy a laptop.

1_What is your budget?

Around 1000$

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

15.6 or under

3_What screen resolution do you want?

Nothing weird!

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

Portable, my desktop is doing great!

5_How much battery life do you need?

Between 3-6 hours would be great!

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

Maybe a bit of SC2 and WOW with some CS Source, High setting would be very nice!

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, watching movies, Etc.)

Watch some movie and do some school work (software development), so I'd like a good processor to COMPILE FAST!

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?

Anything between 200gb and 500gb

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

I'd love to buy from Amazon.ca or Newegg.ca

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?

3-5 years!

11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

Basic DVD, doesn't even need to burn!

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

I would like any brand!

13_What country do you live in?

Canada

14_Please tell us any additional information if needed.

I would like something with good performance yet maintain a good battery life. A HUGE PLUS would be something that doesn't try to burn me (something that gets too hot). I had a Toshiba Satellite that went so hot I thought it would melt every time I used it, it wasn't a cool experience!

Try looking for an Acer AS3820TG... i THINK it may be available at staples.ca, but since it messes with US visitors, i can't check for sure. The equiped 5470 HD graphics card should run WoW and CS:S on high perfectly fine, but probably can't handle SC2 on High. It should last you roughly 5 hours on a charge, has a 13" screen @ 1366 x 768 resolution, and should come with a core i5 processor + 4gb of ram.

Yes it is available on staples.ca! I'll definitely take it into consideration.

I would like to get some recommendations on some 15.6" closer to the 1000$ mark before taking any decision tough.

Thanks for your help!
