How to turn off/on color print cartridge in my computer printer?

What's your printer model?

In most printers, you can go to Control Panel - Printers and fax, then right click your printer and go Printing Preferences. Somewhere there should be an option to print with black ink only.

Now if your color cartridge is out of ink, your printer may not work until you replace it.
