Hello,
I am looking for a driver for the ASUS VS 247H-P monitor. I am using windows 7 pro 64 bit and the software is just using a generic driver

Do you have drivers installed for your graphics card? Usually you only get a generic driver when no driver is installed for the graphics card. If it is a built-in graphics card then you will need to consult the motherboard maker for the driver.

I never installed any driver for any monitor I ever used, and plus the fact most monitor OEM don't write drivers for screens. They all use the default driver Windows installs. I agree with ken. Is the driver for the graphics card installed?
