With XP, the Zone files are considered System files so you can't just
delete the files you want to replace. To remove the Zone from XP, open
Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs. In the left column, click Windows
Components, find and remove the Zone. Delete the files in the main Zone
folder, then reinstall the Zone, reenter for updates.

With WinXP you can run System Restore and select an entry point listed
on a date before the problem first occurred. Of course you'd then have
to reinstall any software installed after that point.
